:: prayer garden and memorial columbarium
A tranquil place that glorifies God

Northminster Presbyterian Church’s purpose for building the Prayer Garden and Memorial Columbarium is to provide for God’s children in this church family a tranquil, appropriate and convenient place to worship him either alone or with others. This beautiful area will be a place for worship, celebration, weddings, innichement committals and special services.

Our heavenly Father has directed us to care for one another in spirit and in truth. The garden will provide a place where we can meet our Lord, pray and care for and comfort those who are grieving.

Garden and Columbarium Design

This prayer garden completes the northeast corner of the church property and architecturally unites the look of our church campus. A high steel cross provides a dramatic welcome on the outside corner pavilion wall.

Two colonnades with wide walkways and arches detailed on the exterior with wrought iron grille work and plantings house 250 granite faced single or double niches. The interior arches are open for now and allow for additional niches as needed.

Bronze memorial plaques celebrate church family members interred elsewhere.

The garden is a beautiful and inviting place to ponder God’s glory and experience his grace in prayer.

Cherishing Memories and Following Dreams

You have the opportunity to be a special participant in this exciting Christian ministry in supporting this outdoor sanctuary for worship and prayer -

  • with your prayers of intercession and support, and
  • by contributing special gifts marked “Prayer Garden and Memorial Columbarium.”

Applications for innichement rights and memorial wall plaques may be obtained from the church office.
