Steeple Light, Video & Sound

Purpose and Objectives

The media ministries team, Steeple Light, Video & Sound, endeavors to provide technical support for all worship events and ministry efforts of Northminster. We focus upon the seamless application of technology to enhance the worship experience and to extend the word of God to those not physically present in our sanctuary on Sunday morning.

To accomplish these objectives, we draw upon the multiple talents of a dedicated team of volunteers who selflessly give of their time and effort to ensure the best possible worship experience for members and first-time visitors alike. We further work to make available the media resources required to "carry the Good News of the love of Christ to Tucson and beyond." As a team, we place the highest possible premium on transparency, so that our presence goes unnoticed, and a standard of technical excellence, all the while practicing sound stewardship of the resources with which God has blessed us.

What We Do...

  • Worship Services: Every Sunday morning, and on special occasions such as Maundy Thursday or Christmas Eve, team members meet the audio, video, lighting, and multimedia requirements of Northminster's worship life. In addition to mixing sound for the sanctuary, we also provide a live video feed of the services to the sanctuary narthex and elsewhere on the church campus, as well as perform audio, video, and digital recordings of each service. Projectionists present various worship elements such as lyrics and Scripture passages to assist and enhance the worship experience for all.

  • Special Events: Steeple Light, Video & Sound meets whatever audio, video, multimedia and other technical needs exist for various special events in the church life of Northminster, such special concerts and musical performances, or seasonal productions such as the children's Christmas program.

  • Radio Ministry: We recently completed our seventh year on the air - our first radio broadcast aired April 1, 2002. Our worship services and ministry are broadcast on KGMS, 940 AM, six days a week - Sundays from 6:00-7:00 PM and Monday through Friday from 6:30-7:00 AM. Our Sunday night broadcast, Lift High the Cross, features a replay of that morning's worship service, typically the 9:30 AM service. Our weekday morning broadcast, True North, includes sermon lessons and Wednesday interviews of ordinary Christian disciples in our community, who are doing extraordinary things for God.

  • Duplication Ministry: Every worship event at Northminster, and virtually all special events, are recorded in audio, video and digital formats. These recordings are then used to fulfill duplication requests from the congregation as well as generate audio tape reproductions for our tape ministry. Copies of worship services, church events and activities, or even copies of prior True North radio broadcasts (audio formats only), can be ordered in cassette, CD, and video tape (VHS) or DVD formats. Please contact us if you are interested in placing an order or complete a Media Request Form in the church office.

  • Web Site: The Director functions as Webmaster for our Web site at npctucson.org, which has emerged as a key component of our vision and mission to extend the Good News to Tucson and beyond. The Internet presents unique evangelical opportunities on a truly global scale, and we have only begun to tap into the possibilities! Please send Web site feedback and comments to webmaster@npctucson.org.
