Rummage Sale

Friday and Saturday, March 6 and 7, 8:00am to 2:00pm, Fellowship Hall. Come and shop! Funds from the sale are donated to help support women’s and children’s ministries.

Donations for Rummage Sale: Do you have gently-used, clean items you’d like to donate? Please bring them to the Fellowship Hall Thursday, March 5 after 10:00am. No clothing will be accepted, and any donated electrical equipment needs to be in working order. Would you like to volunteer to help set up or work at the sale? Contact Julie Crane or Diane Shackelford through the Church Office.

 

Sanctuary Choir Concert - Brahms, A German Requiem
Sunday, March 8, 5:00pm, Sanctuary

MusicOur Sanctuary Choir will present sections I-IV of Johannes Brahms' monumental choral masterpiece A German Requiem, sung in English, featuring a baritone soloist, chamber orchestra and organ. The work is not a Requiem, but is rather a collection of scriptures chosen by Brahms which focus on comfort and consolation for the living with assurance of life eternal. The program will conclude with the sublime How Lovely is Thy Dwelling Place.

Plan now to attend this very special concert. A freewill offeringwill be taken, with a reception following.

 

Marriage 101 Retreat - "Back to the Basics"
Friday, March 20, 6:30-8:15pm; Saturday, March 21, 9:00am-4:00pm

Every couple preparing to be married needs tools to help build a successful marriage. Every married couple needs a refresher course once in a while on what matters most in marriage.
Marriage 101: Back to the Basics provides excellent teaching, stimulating conversations, and a lot of laughter. Topics will include expectations in marriage, personality differences, conflict resolution, spiritual intimacy, and relating with money.

Friday evening, March 20, from 6:30-8:15pm
Saturday, March 21, 9:00am–4:00pm
The retreat will be held at Northminster

$50 registration fee per couple ($25 per single) includes class materials and lunch on Saturday. Register by March 10 online or in the Church Office. Nursery care is available. Contact Pastor Pete Seiferth for more information.

Growth Groups Continue Wednesday Nights, 6:00-8:00pm

Wednesday Night Growth Groups continue on Wednesday nights, 6:00-8:00pm, with an optional dinner offered (donation requested). Childcare is available by request.

  • Parenting the Love & Logic Way - Learn techniques to raise children who are respectful, responsible, and fun to be around! This is a video-based course with lots of opportunities for discussion and laughter. Led by Pastor Pete Seiferth, Independent Love and Logic® facilitator. Sign up online.
  • A Life Worth Living – See how you can live the Christian life positively, practically and joyfully by joining us for this nine-week course based on Paul's letter to the Philippians. Led by Pastor Andy Ross and Marshall Worden. Sign up online.
  • Midweek Friends for Kids! - Bible-centered and scripture-focused fun, featuring unique ways for children age 4 (by Aug. 31) through grade 5 to explore who God is and who they are becoming in Christ. Registration forms are available in the children’s classrooms or Church Office.

 

Free English Classes for Adults
Mondays and Thursdays, 9:00-10:30am, Multipurpose Building

Literacy Connects and Literacy Volunteers of Tucson believe that everyone should have the opportunity to learn to read, write and speak English, and they work with adults in two main areas:

  • Adult Basic Literacy
  • English Language Acquisition for Adults (ELAA)

English Language Acquisition for Adults provides free classes for adults who want to speak, write and read in English in order to fully participate in, and contribute to, our community. Classes are being held at Northminster on Mondays and Thursdays, 9:00-10:30am in the Multipurpose Building. All levels of English are welcome!
