Advent Gift of the Heart Testimonies
160 Northminster individuals and families made the bold commitment to provide food for the hungry by participating in our Advent Gift of the Heart initiative, made possible by a generous gift from the estate of Elizabeth Johnston.
Each individual or family received a gift-to-give of $190 to be used for hunger relief in whatever way they felt God leading them.
You may submit your testimony on how you used your gift-to-give by completing a simple online form, available here. Testimonies should be submitted by January 10, 2010.

We need you to make our new family album complete!
Help us put faces with names in our 2010 Pictorial Directory. Our Directory Committee has chosen Lifetouch to help us connect our members and tell our story.
There is no cost or obligation to participate and each individual or family that takes part will receive a complimentary 8x10 portrait and one pictorial directory.
When was the last time you or your family had a professional portrait taken?
Consider inviting grandparents and other family members/loved ones to join your portrait sitting (even if they are not members). You may bring your household pet to your portrait session. We know they are part of the family, too. (Please note: Pets will not be included in the directory.) You can bring props that define who you are and express your individuality. You will have an opportunity to purchase additional portraits.

Wednesdays, 6:00-8:00pm, in the Grundstrom Room
An opportunity to explore the meaning of life...
This course continues Wednesday nights through February 10, 6:00-8:00pm in the Grundstrom Room. ALPHA is a simple, dynamic and effective introduction to the essentials of living out the Christian life in our everyday world. The course is for individuals who have questions about the Christian faith as well as for those who want to reaffirm or clarify what they believe.
ALPHA is a great chance for teens, adults and families to grow in faith together and a wonderful opportunity to invite friends to join you - friends who may not have a church home or who are asking questions about God.
The ALPHA evening begins with a light meal, followed by a short video and discussion.
During the six weeks we’ll discuss these big topics:
- Who is Jesus?
- Why did Jesus die?
- Why and how do I pray?
- Why and how should I read the Bible?
- Does God heal today?
- Why and how should we tell others?
Saturday, February 6, 9:00am-1:00pm, on our Holy Spirit Day, we will seek answers to the questions: Who is the Holy Spirit? What does the Holy Spirit do? How can I be filled with the Holy Spirit?
